The Calgary Flames Will Help You Pay For Your Student’s Travel

EPSMPA has partnered with the Flames organization to provide an opportunity for parents and their children to volunteer in a number of capacities at Flames, Hitmen, Roughnecks and Stampeders games.

The roles involve working the tills, pouring beer, cooking and serving food, either in a concession stand or as a “runner” for patrons that order food and beverages to be brought directly to their seats.

As a volunteer, you are paid, tax free, $49-$79/shift into your student’s travel account.  Shifts vary in length from approximately 3 hours (as a runner, for which you are paid $49) to approximately 5 hours (in the concession stand, for which you are paid $79).

It is a fantastic opportunity to get started when your student is in grade 10 so you can earn credits towards trips for all 3 years.

The next training session for potential volunteers is on Tuesday, December 4th @ 5:30 pm, and you must register for the training session by November 28th.

The shift availabilities are primarily for parents and/or students who are 18+, however, there are a limited number of shifts for those under the age of 18.  All adults will be required to be ProServe certified which will be explained at the training session.

Please let Mark Kuipers, our Flames Coordinator know if you have any questions or are interested in attending the next training session @ markcorkuipers@gmail.com
