EP Scarlett Choir students are reminded to clear their social calendars this Friday evening (December 8th) to make room for the Carols For Christmas event at the Saddledome, during which choirs from schools throughout Calgary will be performing at various points throughout the evening.
We’re told that between songs a “hockey game” will be played, which is an interesting gimmick for a concert: displays of athleticism between some fine choral performances. While we’re excited about a fun night of music, we’re also curious to find out whether this hockey sport catches on with the rest of the country.
Please note: despite the fact there is no school on Friday, the choir will be participating in this event. The Fine Arts are demanding taskmasters, and care naught about PD days.
Some details for choir students and their families:
Tickets: Both student tickets and those that had been ordered/purchased in advance for friends/family were handed out in class Monday morning. If your son/daughter was absent, please have them pop by Mr. Bell’s office to get their ticket.
Transportation: Transportation to and from the Scotiabank Saddledome is the responsibility of the student/families.
Locations (arrival, meeting, performing): Please plan to arrive at the Saddledome at 6:00pm when the doors open. We will meet in our seats (section 105) by 6:30 PM such that we can sing the first set which will follow the players’ warmup.
Logistics /Agenda for the evening: Choirs will be singing at three different times throughout the evening; Pregame; beginning at 6:30pm, first intermission and second intermission.
Dress/Uniform: No need for formal concert dress. That said, please try and round up some Scarlett RED for the occasion!
